A Great Sunday

What better way to start the week but go to Church and hear the word of GOD being taught...The congregation at Magnolia Park is slowly growing again with the addition of new folks coming in for the great weather here in "Deep South Texas"....The attendance today was 92 to hear Pastor Stacey preach the word of GOD....The theme today was on "Women and the persistence of faith"...It's good to hear and realize that sometimes it pays to be stubborn and be persistent in stating your wants and needs in life...Just never give up in praying for there is always benefits for all who do...

After the service there was coffee and cake to wish Pastor Stacey's son (Eddie) GOD speed, as he is going into the service to serve our country...We all need to pray for all our service men and women that are protecting our country for us...GOD BLESS THEM ALL !!!

Busy Week

Well we have been busy this week doing one thing or the other....I have been playing pool of course in a couple of leagues and at our park during regular play days...Nine ball league on Monday afternoon, 8 ball in the park on Tuesday afternoons, 8 ball in the league on Wednesday morning, and nine ball in the park on Friday afternoon...Of course we have to practice a few nights for a couple of hours just to keep in shape so to speak..HA HA It's a tough life for the old fat boy...

Last Monday the park model was sold and moved out of the park...We were sad to see it go out of the park but we needed to get rid of it...We have had a couple of calls on the mobile and showed it a couple of times...This morning we showed it to a couple for the second time and they said that they wanted it and consider it sold...We are going to draw up some papers Monday morning and receive the down payment....We have come to terms that are agreeable to all concerned so I would say it's a done deal....I know that they and us will be happy with everything...We are kind of sad to sell and leave the park but we must do what we need to do...Till next time keep the faith....

Update

Well the carpet is in the mobile and looking good without a hitch....We managed to do the final cleaning and I put the FOR SALE sign in front under the window so we are ready to show it when some one calls for it....On Saturday we managed to sell the park model and I have to go over in the morning (Monday) to sign the title over and collect the payment for the sale...We didn't get the asking price but the time was getting close to rent time and we wanted to get things over with...I did keep the small shed and will move it over to the new house in Siesta later in the week..I called Hector and he is going to move it for me...Gene says that we did need some more room to store some things that are in the way now in the sheds that we have, so every thing is going to work out great....

We were able to go to Church at Magnolia this morning for the first time in quite a while and we sure missed it....It was great to see all the people again and to hear the word of GOD being preached and taught....The lesson was on "The Women of The Bible" and was a great lesson....We just don't realize just how important the women we have around us are to help us keep on the path that GOD wants for us....We just need to listen and heed the direction we need to go...There was a good number in Church (72) so the word was spread to many...Remember to always take GOD with you no matter where you go......GOD BLESS ALL

How mixed up can things get???

I don't know just how the weirdest things happen to me...I was setting in the Dr.'s office talking to him about my toe nail problem and high blood pressure when I get three phone calls on the cell one right after the other...It seems the carpet layers showed up at the Siesta house to lay carpet instead of the Magnolia house...I told them they never called me to confirm the time or any thing for sure...They said that it was going to cost me 175 dollars to have them come back...Was I ever HOT about that....After I got out of the Dr.'s I went to Home Depot and tried to get to the bottom of the problem...After I explained just what happened and that I wasn't going to pay any thing more the manager of the store did some calls and got things straighted out...I really don't know just where the mix up was for sure, but he assured me that every thing would be taken care of with no cost to me...Now they are coming out Thursday afternoon to lay the carpet....I told him to make sure they came to Magnolia to do the job instead of Siesta....He assured me they would call me 30 minutes before they would be there to do the job...That way I can stay at home and not have to just wait around on them and be able to leave Siesta and get there at Magnolia when they came in...Oh what a tangled web life is at times....I guess that's what makes life interesting and keeps you thinking...

Yikkes Where has the time gone???

I was reminded today that I haven't posted in quite a while by a good friend...(D.S.) and why wasn't I posting?? I guess that I don't have any good excuses but just busy and lazy is all I can say...I will try to do better in the future...I know that I have said that before but maybe I can make it stick this time...

A lot has happened since I did post and I will try to bring some of it forward for the blog...The new year has started and promises to be quite a bit different than last year...I guess you might call that progress in some areas, we can just hope...Between working over at the houses at Magnolia and trying to get them ready to put on the market, trying to put some order in place at the house in Siesta ( Marilyn has done most of it and I just try to stay out of the way unless she prods me in some direction she needs me in.), and playing pool several days a week the time has just flown by before you know it...

One bad thing happened to me last Saturday when Gene and I were at Magnolia to work on the house as we were moving furniture, the couch slid over my foot and tore the toe nail loose on my left big toe...OH MY did that ever hurt...I couldn't do any thing for a while but try to stop the bleeding and pain...When we got home, Marilyn said let's go to the Emergency at the hospital to get it taken care of...So off we go...I will say that was quite an experience, but they did a great job taking care of the old fat boy...It is sore for sure but time will take care of it now...

Well that's enough for now, but I will try to do better....I have a Dr.'s appointment tomorrow morning to follow up on the toe and then the installers are suppose to lay new carpet in the mobile at Magnolia...It seems that there is always something going on, or something to do..OH WELL...
